TIJUANA EXTENSION SURE PRESIDENT C0FFR0TH EXPECTED TO ANNOUNCE SEVERAL MORE WEEKS RACING. Yosterdays Sport of Sensational Order — Finishes Close and Exciting — Miss Fannie Displays Speed to Win Lankersheim Handicap. Tijuana, Mex.. March 13. — Miss Fannie won her first race of the meeting today when she came from far back to win the Lankersheim Handicap. She only got up in the closing strides to defeat Diadi after a furious drive down the stretch. Blue Cap was third. Silvermoon set the paee, but tired badly when challenged in the stretch. The opening dash resulted in a spectacular finish, in which the three-year-old Ethelbert colt. Luck, quoted at 25 to 1 in the betting, got up in the last stride to beat Precision, which had set the pace from the start. Old Fort Johnson bled and was pulled up in this race. Positano won the second race. Ethel Welles set a fast early p.u-e. but quit when entering the homestretch and Positano. which was never far away, forged to the front and drew out into a long lead at the end. Auntie Curl was favorite in this race, but had nothing to do with the running of it. being outpaced all the way. The. third race produced another sensational finish. Choctaw got away badly and was outrun to the stretch, where he came wide, but when straightened out. finished with a terrific burst of speed and wore the leaders down, drawing clear at the end. Bully might have won but for being in clos ■■ quarters to the stretch. Zenotek quit after setting the pace to the last eighth. Waremore led all the way in the fifth, but tired in the stretch and just lasted long enough to win. Although President Coffroth has not made known his intentions regai-.ling an extension, it Is thought he will do so in favor of several more weeks, within a few days.
