WILL TRAIN G. W. BEARDM0RE HORSES. Trainer George Cornell Engaged to Handle String Including Five Kings Plate Eligibles. Toronto. Ont.. March 28. — George Cornell, the local trainer, has been engaged by Oeorge Beard-niore to train his string of horses this year. Mr. I.eardmore has nominated no fewer than five in the Kings Plate, they being Fair Fox. by Red Fox II.; Ring Dove and Ladder of Light, both by Stanhope II. . anil two by Bowling Brook, namely. Smart Cat and Altar Fire. With the exception of Ring Hove, which won two races at the Woodbine fall meeting last year, the others are maidens. Last year Cornell was the Canadian Racing Associations patrol judge, but the year before he trained Hartley and several 1 others. Cornell also trained that good horse. Ever ilt. some yean ago. when he was one of the best on the Canadian circuit, having to his credit the mile and an eighth record at Hamilton. The Beard -more hors-s have wintered at the Hunt Club and are in good condition. Charlie Crew, the local horseman, has seven horses in his string this spring, one of which is Oriana. a Kings Plater. The others are Corn Broom. Ne-llis .. Eddie R.. Miss iayle. Pepper Sauce and j Old Pop. He has not a two-year-old in his stable. According to Charlie the horses are well advanced. owing to being able to gallop them on the Hunt Club track since March 1. His string will be taken 1 to Woodbine just as soon as the weather permits. It is the intention of Crew to make jumpers out of I Pepper Same and Old Pop this year.
