G. A. COCHRANS BEST IMPORTED COLT. L A. Cochrans best colt of Bngttah stock is lhillipic. a son of Cicero — Qanlr, which defeated Bally. Arnold and Daddy Long Lees at Empire City la-t July. No hatne in the country has improved more over winter than this colt and he will race in the east with Mr. Sanfords importations Tyrant, a son of Radium — Oppression: Tranby, a sou of Irish Lad Frizette; Spartaeus. a son of Black Sand — Olorita. and SaiiilstonelL. a son of Black Sand — La Paraguay.-!. These Sanford colts, like the importations of the Billing- string, were laid up pretty much all last season with sore shins. But. evidently, it is the intention of their owner, who is a member of the State Racing Commission of New York, to have them ready early. He has brought his entire stable down from Amsterdam to the Jamaica track to the end that they may be fitted for Belmont Park dates.
