April 25. — The contention that a trainer af race horses is entitled to ten per cent of the winnings of animals under his care was given a rude jolt in the Circuit Court yesterday. Judge Thomas R. Walsh, trainer of Crasmere. a race horse owned by the plaintiffs. While Crasmere was in training the horse won purses amounting to „S93.50, and Walsh kept ten per cent of the winnings, although plaintiffs said there was no such understanding on their part and that their contract only called for the payment of .50 a day to Walsh while he was training their racer.
