INVESTIGATING RACE TRACK CHARTERS. There is considerable interest manifested in Montreal race circles regarding an Ottawa report to the effect that two or three of the independent race tracks, now operating in ami around Montreal, will lie forced to close down. The charters of several of the clubs iu the Canadian metropolis are now being investigated at the Dominion capital, and good authority has it that two will probably be canceled. What tracks these will be is the subject for considerable discussion, and further information ia awaited with some apprehension.
