MANY IMPROVEMENTS AT KING EDWARD. Everything in Readiness for tho Opening of the Montreal Meeting This Afternoon. Montreal. Que., July 0. Many improvements will be found at the King Edward course for the meeting which opens there Saturday. The paddock, which in previous years was at the entrance to the course, has been moved to the far end, being nearer the betting enclosure and the stables. The mutuel plant lias been erected und the machines installed for the meeting. The Bowie system will be used under the management of tiie originators. Martin Nathanson will be the presiding steward and racing secretary. The officials who will have charge of the meeting were all at the course yesterday afternoon making arrangements for the opening of the meeting on Saturday. Tiie work has been finished and everything is now in readiness for the opening. The track, which in former years was slow for tlie first meeting, has been given better care this summer and, with continued fine weather and harrowing, will be faster than at any time since the track was opened. After the King Edward Park meeting comes De-lorimiers second session, followed by a scramble between Kempton course, the London Jockey Club and Maisonncuve for the remaining seven days.
