FOALS AT THE NURSERY STUD FARM. Sixteen Young Thoroughbreds Owing Paternity to Fair Play and Other Renowned Sires. Lexington, Ky., July 7. At the sides of their dams in tiie largest and best woodland pastures on August Belmonts Nursery Stud Farm near Lexington, are sixteen suckling thoroughbreds eight colts and eight fillies all the property of the chairman of the Jockey Club and, with the exception of a bay colt by Harry Payne Whitneys Broomstick, dam the young Rock Sand mare, Mission, all by the home sires. Four colts and three fillies are by Fair Play, the good son , of the recently dead Hastings and Fairy Gold, a daughter of Bend Or, which also produced Friar Rock, son of Rock Sand, for which John E. Madden is reputed to. have paid 0,000 and which made his first season this year at Hamburg Place. Among those by Fair Play is a chestnut filly, dam the famous old Rayon dOr mare, St. Priscilla, the dam of Priscillian, Strom-boli, St. Rock and others. Then there is a bay colt, dam another noted old mare, Nineveh, now aged twenty-five, daughter of The IU-Used Semi-ramis, by St. Blaise Sultana, by Lexington. Nineveh is the dam of Nightstick, Nitrate, Namtor, Nine Spot. Nlnepin, Nathaniel, Babylon, Nancy, Norman, New Star, Norse King and Nancy Fair. The others by Fair Play are chestnut colt, dam Ferment dam of Ferole, Fathom, Fenrock and Fern-rock, by Octagon, chestnut colt, dam Mahubah dam of Masda by Rock Sand; bay colt, dam Surcingle, by Rock Sand: bay filly, dam Violet Ray half-sister to Dick Welles, Ort Wells, Security, Dick Finnell, Hasty Pudding, etc. by Rock Sand. By Vulcain a good winner in France and son of Rock Sand and Lady of the Vale there is a chestnut colt, dam imported Fairy Gold dam of Fair Play and Friar Rock; a bay filly, dam Delusion dani of Deer Trap, Danger Rock, etc. by Meddler; and chestnut filly, dam Toucan dam of Tush Tush by Star Ruby. Watervale is represented by a bay filly, dam Haute Roche, by Rock Sand, and a bay filly, dam Dona Roca, by Rock Sand. The. only one by Hastings is a bay or brown filly, dam Olympia half sister to Ormula and Fair Orient, by Rock Sand. Danger Rocks is a bay colt, dam Anua Russell, by Russell, and the other youngster is a bay colt by Trap Rock, dam teccadillo, by Hastings.
