CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Jockey Eddie Taplin rode three winners at Thorn-cliffe Park Tuesday. O. Johnson has traded the three-year-old Plunger to R. Hall for the five-year-old Mcx. Martin Nathansou is the presiding steward at Mount Royal Park and also the racing secretary. W. Ormes riding at Mount Royal Tuesday featured the opening days racing at that track. Ormes piloted three winners home. It is said that it is James Butlers intention to place Spur at the head of his Eastview Stud, when that good son of King James is retired from racing. The eight-year-old Bcarcatchcr gelding Oakwood won his third straight victory when he easily took the third race at Mount Royal on Tuesday, the opening day of the London Jockey Clubs meeting. Montreal racegoers will get their fill of racing this week, with Mount Royal and Maisonneuve Parks both holding meetings, beginning with the racing of Tuesday. Several head of the Thorncliffe Stables horses will be sold at auction at Thorncliffe Park on Thursday, including Britannia and Queen Sain, the two-year-olds Joffre, Lord Kitchener and Lockson and a yearling colt.
