TANFORAN PARK ARMY TRAINING CAMP. San Francisco, Cal., July 25. Tanforan Park,, the scene of many thoroughbred struggles in the past, but not used for racing since 1901, has been secured as an armory, barracks, headquarters and training camp for the California Field Artillery, and just as .soon as some necessary preliminaries are perfected, the men enrolled to carry the Golden States fame and fight for humanity on Europes battlefields, will be hard at work getting themselves fit to participate in. the. great nvelee. The place is considered ideal for that purpose. With stabling accommodations for almost 2,000 horses, abundant water and electric lighting, a vast center field for a drill ground, the place is declared adequate by the officers. It is within easy distance of San Francisco, with which it is connected by steam and electric railways, the trip taking about thirty minutes.
