. BIG BAND OF LIVINGSTON RACERS. I Jefferson Livingston has eighteen thoroughbred $ mares distributed among the blue grass farms near Lexington, and these will figure as stud matrons next season. About a dozen of Mr. Livingstons mares arc English-bred and the others are Ameri-cnu-bred. He has a strong liking for the blood of Polymelus and three of his mares are by that famous sire. Colonel Vennie and Royal II. will probably go Into the stud next season, as Mr. Livingston has a high opinion of both of them and thinks their blood lines will nick well with those or hit broodmares. Mr. Livingston lias sixty-three thoroughbreds all told, and fifty of them are imported animals. He has fifteen English and nini American-bred yearlings now at Douglas Park where they are being broken. 1
