R. F. CARMANS EXTENSIVE BREEDING STUD. R. F. Carman is giving considerable attention to his farm in Montgomery county, Maryland, near Washington, where Meridian, that good son of Broomstick, is at the head of his stud. He is giving Meridian seventeen mures this season and his re-1 maining three to The Turk. Meridian has two yearlings on the farm, one colt and one filly. This year he has a crop of sucklings consisting of six colts and one filly. One of the suckling colts Is a half-brother to Achievement and the yearling filly is a half-sister to that same good horse. Among his broodmares are Achieve dam of Achievement, by Watercress; Azyiade, the fast mare by Cactus Miss C, by Florist; Horizon, by Hastings Fond Hopes; Lady Barbara, by GalvestonBarbara Belle, by Watercress, and the untried mare Oleander, by Rock Sand Octaroon.
