SUN BRIAR NOW AT TOP OF HIS FORM Saratoga. N. Y., August 28. Saturdays running of the Grand Union Hotel Stakes made it cle.ur that Willis Sharpe Kilmers good colt Sun Briar is at the top of his form just now, while former Congressman George W. Lofts Papp litis pi-obaldy staled off as one result of the severe campaign to which he has been subjected during tlw pat mouth. Papp failed to run his accustomed good race Saturday and seemingly had no excuses, for he got. away to better advantage than usual. Jockey Knapps horsemanship played no littfe part in Sun BriarV victory. It was the general opinion of close Observers that had he hot taki.h the colt back and saved him when lie found lie could not outrun the pacemaker, that Sim Briar won id not have been returned the victor. Jockey Knapp was generally commended for thy.! good judgment ho displayed. Sun Briar is in hottc:-condition just now than at any previous time in hit career. He has recovered from an attack of the skin disease that has been playing havoc with so many of the good horses Jiere. He is eligible for tin? rich Hopeful Stakes, to be run Thursday, and trainer Henry McDaniel, who has brought the colt to his j present good form, in spite of the handicaps imposed by his ringbones, expects to send him to the post for this race, ill which he will be penalized .to the , full extent of eight pounds on ifecount of his Sara- I toga Special and Grand Union Hotel Stakes successes, making his impost for the race 130 piunids, the same as on Saturday. ,
