BIG PRICES FOR -McDOWELL -YEARLINGS By J. L. Dempsey, Saratoga, N. Y., August 29. Acting for J. E. Widener, trainer Thomas Welsh today concluded negotiations with T. C. McDowell for the sale of the chestnut colts by The Manager dams Kings Daughter and Star Cat respectively. The price was not divulged, but Mr. McDowell made it known that they sold for more than any other pair of yearlings by the same sire. As, the Uncle, Star Shoot and Ballot youngsters all brought fancy prices it is assumed that Mr. Widener paid Mr. McDowell over 0,000 each for the colts. Mr. Welch only returned yesterday . from Kentucky where he had been to inspect the youngsters. He is also negotiating for the transfer of another of the McDowell youngsters.
