HAS HIGH OPINION OF HOURLESS By J. R. Jeff cry. Saratoga. N. Y., August 29. August Belmont, who presides over the deliberations of that most exclusive of organizations, the Jockey Club, entertains a high opinion of the value of his colt Hourless, which is regarded as Omar Khayyams only rival for the three-year-old championship. On being asked to set a price on the son of Nefogol Hour Glass a few days ago, he named "00,000 as the smallest amount for which he would be willing to part with the colt. The wealthy eastern turfman, who sought a price on the horse, was unwilling to pay so much and so nothing came of the negotiations. Omar Khayyam is not for sale at any price, it is learned. This goes to show how thoroughbred values have stiffened in the United Sta-tes under the stimulus of a lively demand on the part of wealthy men for high-class horses. George A. Marshall has purchased the three-year-old colt Leicester, by Yankee Queen Elizabeth from John E. Madden and will shortly ship him to Havre de Grace, together with the speedy filly Marie Miller and the two-year-old filly Lady Longfellow, which he acquired at the Beverwyck Stables weed-ing-out sale.
