GOOD HORSES COME TO CANADA News has just come to hand that the two-year-olds and broodmares Charles ONeill sent to Canada arrived safely. The broodmares included Hillhamp-tons dam. Estate, in foal to William Rufus. so that the result will be a brother or sister to that consistent colt, which last week won the Houghton Stakes in a canter. Another fine mare is Pollie Hill, by Polymelus. Of the two-year-olds perhaps the most improving colt is Wigstone, by Bay-ardo Blue Tit, a good-looking one, as Ave remember him at Newmarket when he was beaten a short head. After he has done with racing he should make a valuable stallion. Bonnie Dance is another good bay colt with a lot of bone, which won the Phoenix Park Plato easily in a big field, with several horses that have since won including Cara-dos behind him. He is by Lomond Lawn Dance, by Common, and ought to be useful as a stallion later on. The whole consignment were picked with much judgment, and should certainly be a valuable acquisition to Canada. There were in all eleven liead. London Sportsman.
