A. K. MACOMBERS KENTUCKY STABLE Division Comprises Twenty-Three Head, of Which Fiftcca Are Promising Two-Yoar-Olds. Louisville. Ky.. April 1. — The Kentucky division of the A. K. Macomber stable iu training at Churchill Iiowns. under the care of Thomas Murphy, is ox-pect-d to play a most important figure on the Kentucky tracks "this year, inasmuch as the establishment, iu addition to being one ,of the trnrfeost. embraces among its members some of the best racing material ever quartered at the local track. The stable consists of twenty-three head, fifteen of which i;re two-year-olds- and the remainder more matured horses. The oiler division includes such good performers as Hollister. Fruit Cake. Fell Swoop, the stables Kentucky Derby eligible. War !od and lesser lights like Orleans. Paieines. Sirocco and William S. Culliertson. All of these are going along well in their training and. with few exceptions, will ha ready for the early spring races. War Cod is laing pointed for the Derby and will start in the big race if he stands up under training, while Orleans, a speedy three-year-old filly, is Ix-iiig "prepped" especially for the Kentucky Oaks. Hollister, Fell Swoop and Fruit Cake are all doiug finelv and ought to give a good account of themselves the first time under colors this year. The juveniles in the stable are about the finest collection of their kind to be seen anywhere. Thev are all foreign-bred and comprise a part of the band that Mr. Maeoniber acquired from J. B. Joel, having been bred at Child wick Bury Stud, near St. Albans. Hertfordshire. England. Bight of the uum-her are bv Spanish Prince, a son of Sir Oeoffrev; three are by Sunstar. the sire of Xorth Star III.. War Star and Hollister; two are by Prince Palatine, while there is one by Sun Spot and one bv Cylgad. Following is the list: War Call. eh. c. by Cylgad— Helium.
