CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Richard Puryear. of Cincinnati, a well-known turfman, died in that city Sunday from the effects of injuries received from a fall on the ice during the month of January. Mr. Puryear was 77 years old and but a few years ago owned and trained a stable of racer.*. Assurances have been given at Washington that efforts would be made to supply cars required for shipping race horses and announcement made that it was not the policy of the government to interfere with the pleasures of the people except when war measures make it imperative. Kimball Patterson, who has had his stable quartered at Bowie with the expectation of taking part in the Prince Georges county meeting, will ship to Havre de Grace within the next few days. Pattersons change in plans came as a result of some of the youngsters iii his string showing bucked shins.
