FASTEST DERBY WORK OF THE SEASON Lexington. Ky.. April 1. — The fastest and best move shown here by any Kentucky Derby candidate was Plums mile in 1:1- this morning. This filly, from the band of Thomas C. McDowell, went the first half in 18".,. the five-eighths in 1:10% and the three-quarters in 1:1.". Her stable mates. Olive Wood and American F.agle. also eligible for the Ih-rby, worked miles in 1:43.-. and 1:44. respectively. Charles I. Wort liingtons Viva America, another filly that is highly regarded in Derby discussion, worked her mile in 1:43%. Manager Watte worked iu 1:42%.
