, , CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF R. Pending purchased the two-year-old Old Bill Bender of Edward McBride yesterday morning. W. K. Walsh of Latonia. is the breeder of Jack Hare Jr. He was foaled at the Carr farm near Iexington. Ky.. where Moonet now is and where she has a fine filly foal, by Dick Kinnell, now alvut two months old. Fred Mitchell, who at one time rode both on the flat and through the field in France, has arrived iu New York after having been a prisoner in five different German prison camps. He is here to work iu the interest of the Red Cross. Americas fir-t aerial mail service began Monday, when an army plane left the field of the Belmont lark rue track carrying the first mail MSB. Major August Belmont, on In-half of the Westchesl.-r Racing Association, donated the use of the race track to the government for an aerial station, free of charge.
