w STALLION MEETS HORRIBLE DEATH A letter to the "Siieeial Commissioner" of the London S]»ortsman from Brazil tells how the stallion Cornstalk met with a brutal death. The letter reads: "Just a line to let you know poor old Cornstalk has been murdered. Some brute of a man who had a grievance against Mr. Frederick Lundgren the owner of Cornstalk and Pericles hired a man to get into Cornstalks box. and when lie got in he practically cat off his legs with a razor, and the poor Ivust bled to death. Did you ever hear of anything so damnable? To try and hurt a man or his pocket through torturing and killing a defenseless animal." Cornstalk was bred by the late Sir Daniel Cooper, and foaled in 1902. was a brown son of Trenton from Glare, by Ayrshire. He never succeeded in winning a race, and at Cobhani on Wednesday, July 26, 191V, was nM for 180 guinea* to go to Brazil.
