ODD ENGLISH SPORTING MATCH A unique English match was recently made ac ¬ cording to the London Sportsman by which it is sought to improve on tin record made by the Rev S Swann of Holbrook Derbyshire at Putney in 1917 of cycling walking running sculling paddling and swimming a half mile inside half an hour Mr Swanns time for the feat was M2i which was an improvement on the figures set up by Lieut I P MuIIer of the Danish army who hud accomplish ¬ ed tin task previously in L 919Jf Both these well known athletes it should Ife noted were over fifty years of age As Mr Lehmaiin who lias been training assiduously for his selfimposed task for some time is a comparatively young man it is probable that lie will considerably improve on Mr Swanus figures
