improve in Australian centers Saturday August 31 at Melbourne there was an attendance of 36000 to see the football match between teams below the immediate firstclass from South Melbourne and Carlton On the same day there were 15000 paying people at the Caulfield race course in the same city At Sydney and Melbourne the racing gate receipts run from twentyfive to thirty per cent higher than those
