WILLIE SHAW TO GO ABROAD AGAIN New York November 1C Willie Shaw the old time rider who was a quite successful jockey in Germany before the war will return to Europe as noon as he can get transportation He has waited for the past four years for this opportunity as lie has several good offers for his services abroad Like all other Jockeys who have left these shores for Fnincc and England he appreciates the methods of EurojKfan racing in preference to the roughand ready riding that exists in this country The sur ¬ roundings are congenial and the atmosphere more dignified says Shaw Jockeys in France are ac ¬ cepted in the better ranks of society and are looked upon with a degree of social acceptance that makes things pleasant for all of us I think that racing will IK resumed early in France for the French Jockey Club is aware of tlie fact that it is a sport that should be encouraged not only for the benefit of the horse and its improvement but for the satisfaction of tin community who patronize the H rt aiil they are in goodlv numbers Frenchmen want horse racing just as much as Americans want baseball
