MANY BROODMARES IN LEXINGTON SALE Now that the war is over it will probably be rather a difficult matter for breeders to secure highclass stock for their establishments It is reasonable to suppose that much breeding material from abroad will be withdrawn from the market for those there who have weathered conditions will be reluctant to nart with anything of merit How ¬ ever the breeding interests of this country will have an opportunity on November 29 at Lexington to replenish their studs with some of the best bred mares of both England and America There will be sold on the above date about one hundred high class mares including the collection of Mr Henry A Porter a superblybred band of English mares in foal to Ballot Light Brigade North Star and Wrack Two important breeding establishments those of Mr O H Chenault Spendthrift Stud and Mr Edward Frazer will be dispersed These include both mares and weanlings of native and foreign blood Major August Belniont Nursery Stud is offering eleven highlybred and successful mares witli foal to Fair Play Hourless and Trap Rock while the Brownleigh Park Breeding Corpora ¬ tion is selling imported and native mares in foal to Flotsam Magnet etc Messrs Headley Miller owners of Uncle Uitimus etc are selling about a dozen in foal to these successful stallions as well as Jack Atkin Numerous other breeders are offer ¬ ing smaller consignments and they include such names as E R Bradley II T Oxnard T C Mc ¬ Dowell John Sanford and others Among the stal ¬ lions to be offered are Bourbon Beau Magnet Mo ¬ hawk II Sir Wilfred and Wormleighton the latter a young English horse that raced with success in England In addition to the above the catalogue which may foe had by addressing the Kentucky Sales Co at Lexington Ky will include about a score of yearlings as many more weanlings and quite a numl er of horses in training
