RECORD OF ARRIET IN TWO COUNTRIES Arriet was a right good nice mare and her recent death deprived our breeding interests of a prospec ¬ tive good broodmare She had a creditable record of races won in England as well as in this country and could stay well and sprint fast As a two yearold iu England she l egan her racing career by winning the Osmaston Plate at Derby as a 10 to 1 outsider and in her last race at that age won the November Nursery Handicap at Lingfield from twentyfour opponents at UO to 1 In this country she proved a good mud runner as well as a fleet mare on a fast track her mile in 138 when she won the Savoy Hotel Purse from Grundy Capt Kees and Dorothy Dean at Lexington last spring being a fair index to her measure of speed Her condensed record was as follows Arriet ch m 1911 by Harry Melton Kostner Girl Year Age Sts 1st M 3d Unp Won 1013 2 11 3 0 L60 1914 3 15 U 0 3 10 1785 1915 4 3 0 1 0 50 Totls IS 13 20 14424 In England
