LATONIAS PROGRAM FOR THIS WEEK Four Rich Stakes Including Valuable Latonia Cup and Queen City Handicap to Be Run Cincinnati O November HI The coming week it Latonia will be u notable one in the annals of autumn racing in Kentucky for no fewer than four rich stakes are to be decided In the course of six days These events are the Autumn Selling Stakes to be run Tuesday the Queen City Handicap which Will feature the program Wednesday and the famed Latonia Cup and the Slnton Hotel Special which will serve as a double feature for Saturday On Wednesday the ladles for the second time at the meeting will foe the guests of the jockey club clubThe The Autumn Selling Stakes will be the first of tlit weeks attractions to engage the racegoers ittention It is a race of one mile for threoyear olds and over for which there are fiftysix eligibles including Grimily which hung up a new track rec ¬ ord Thursday Freecutter 1reclous Huford Fern Handle FauxCol Opportunity King Gorln Tumbler Bribed Voter and other good performers Inasmuch as this stake contains the selling clause the weight to foe carried will be governed by the horses selling price Thursday will witness the renewal of the rich Queen City Handicap the most important fall stake for twoyearolds to be decided in Kentucky This event attracted the record number of 141 nomi ¬ nations comprising all of the best juveniles in the west together witli many of the crack eastern youngsters The club adds 5000 to the stakes and on a basis of ten starters the gross value of the race will be approximately 9500 Among the more prominent eligibles and likely starters are Col Taylor Ticklish Uncle White Sennings Park Rodgers Cerinus Linden Lancelot Madras Sam Heli Woodpile and Lothair All of the candidates in local training have been working satisfactorily notably Tom Hayes Lothair which a few days ago worked a mile in 140 140Saturday Saturday will be the real big day of the meeting With the running on that day of both tin Latonia Cup and the Sinton Hotel Special in addition to five other good events patrons will have ni cause for complaint The Cup race with its distance of two miles and i quarter has always been highly favored by local patrons and inasmuch as races at this distance are rarely staged in these latter days the race will attract numerous persons who would not foe present on any other day The Cup race is for threeyearolds and over and the l 0 added to the stake makes it the riches autumn fixture in all Kentucky The race attracted thirty eight entries conspicuous among the number being well known long distance Tunners that have figured prominently in races of this kind at Louisville this fall Among these are Moscqwa which won the St Leger and ran third in the Louisville Cup El Rev a victor in the latter stake arid which gave Moseowa a hard tussle in the St Leger and Lucky 15 which was also a strong factor in both of these events Other likely starters are Exterminator Kentucky Derby winner and which has been sent here especially to start in the Cup race Beaver kill winner of the Latonia Inaugural Freecutter Precious Manager Waite Tumbler and Buforil Over a fast track it is believed that the Cup win ¬ ner will lower Star Jasmines track record of 350if made by that mare October 27 1915
