PHEDODEN moved up rapidly after entering the homestretch and, taking the lead, hung on gamely in the final drive. WALD MASTER tired, but came again in the stretch and finished fast. ROBERT L. PRINCE BONERO set the pace, but tired after racing into a good lead on the stretch turn. COLORS tired after racing well to the stretch. PHIL UNGAR closed a big gap in the last quarter.
