LEADING SIRE SWEEP NOT SOLD LEXIXGTOX, Ky., January 10. Xegotiations for the sale of the remarkably successful stallion Sweep have fallen through. It had been reported that J. S. Barbee and Dr. J. C. Carrick were" about to sell the son of Ben Brush for 00,000. and W. B. Miller of Xew York was mentioned as the prospective buyer. Sweep, a great racerin his day, led the sires of winning two-year-olds in 1917. and further enhanced his. fame last year by heading the list of twenty leading American sins, his progeny winning 39,057 in stakes and purses.
