SIR JOHN JOHNSON OFFERED FOR SALE Frank Nolan Announces Disposal of Capital Racer of a. Few Years Back His Turf Eecord. XEW YORK. X. Y.. January 10. Frank J. Xolan, owner of the Beverwyck Stable, has announced for sale his good thoroughbred stallion Sir John Johnson. One stipulation to the sale is that a purchaser must be secured liefore February 1 or he will be retained by his present owner and bred again to- a few selected mares. Sir John Johnson, now fourteen years old, is a son of Isidor La Tosca II., and was bred at the Uurricana Stud at Amsterdam, X. Y. His racing as u young horse was confined to the tracks of Xew York State, to which his breeder, the late General Stephen Sanford, was. wont to restrict his racing operations. Sir John Johnson was the hero of many a hard fought contest for supremacy with the best horses of his day over the metropolitan tracks. He jKssessed both speed and stamina to such a degree that he was equally at home at sprint-ins or staying. Besides he was an excellent weight carrier. Sir John Johnson saw several seasons in the stud and then returned to the turf. He iias not raced since 1916. The best of his offspring is lie Frank.
