ORIENTAL PARK HAS A SPEED MARVEL Two-Year-Old Dr. Hall Electrifies Havana Racegoers Kay Spence Scores a Double. HAVANA, Cuba, January 24. Dr. Hall, the two-year-old bay colt, by Aeronaut Anna Rain, electrified racegoers at Oriental Park this afternoon by his wonderful flight of speed in running a quarter of a mile in 22 flat, which is but a fraction slower than the American record for the distance and a new record for the Marianao course. Dr. Hall, on the occasion of his first appearance a few days ago. gave an inkling of his great speed when he finished a fast second to the Colin filly Just Fancy after racing wide throughout. Today the colt inn true and straight, simply spread-eagling his opponents and racing like a coming star. Ideal weather conditions brought out another large crowd to the track today. The fields which went to the post were well matched and some good sport was witnessed. , Kay Spence scored a double during the afternoon with High Gear in the second and Sasenta in the fifth. It was a tight fit in the second between High Gear and King Tuscan, and the winner was in doubt until the official placing was displayed. The former ca;ne from behind and just managed to get up in the closing strides. Murray, who had the mount on High Gear, rode a particularly good finish. Sasentas success in the fifth marked a meritorious performance on the part of the Eyebrow filly, as she was badlv outrun during the first mile. How-over under Lunsfords energetic riding Sasenta was able to overtake Guide Post in the last eighth to win drawing away. The third and fourth races provided the surprises of the afternoon. Premium, at 10 to 1 in the betting, accounting for the third, beating the favorite Manganese by three lengths, while in the fourth Major Domo carried Senor Lezamas colors to a well earned victory, with the horses most fancied by the siieculators finishing in the ruck. " Among the arrivals today were John Walters, trainer of the Georg? --M. Hendrie horses, and Harry Frauklln of the Glen View Stock Farm, Gallatin, Tenn. They will remain a few weeks before returning to the States. Mr. Walters has a few horses here in the charge of Harry Van Ry.
