CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The racing season in Spain will open at Seville April 20. A shortage of horses Is the trouble English racing has to face in 1910, .and. is one of the inevitable-incidents of a return to: the normal. The Mersey Stakes of 1.000 sovereigns, for two-yaer-olds, in the Liverpool July program, lias pb-tained the gratifying entry of sixty-two. which is above the average and a satisfactory sign of the times. The Belgian Jockey Club January 5 in Brussels held it-s first meeting since the outbreak of the war. Another meeting will tase place this month, when tlio future of racing in Belgium will be discussed.
