FISHING AND HUNTING NOTES As a protest against the imprisonment of Sinn Feiners farmers in the Irish midlands are warning fox hunts off their lands. The logic of the "reprisals" seems very Irish. Foxes have become so numerous in the vicinity of Elmira, N. Y., that the Chemung County Gun Club has .decided to hold fox hunts at stated intervals this fall and winter. A. Sadler, an enthusiastic Scarborough angler, between December 21, 1917, and December r, 1918; caught 3,200 codling, plaice, .whiting, bilet, mackerel and haddock with the rod, representing a total Aveight of 1,227 pounds.
