LATONIA JOCKEY CLUB IS NO MORE Deal for Salo of , Famous Kenton County Course Ratified at Stockholders Meeting. CINCINNATI, .. February 15. The Latonia Jockey Club yesterday ceased to exist. Stockholders in the organization which lias controlled the Latonia race track sinee.it was built in 1883 voted to approve the deal regarding the sale of the property to the syndicate of Kentuckians which has purchased all four of the big Kentucky tracks, aud also voted to liquidate the company. Representatives of both sides were present at the meeting, and as soon as the title to the property has been approved the syndicate buying the track will pay over the money agreed upon and take possession of the plant. It is believed that all of these details can be arranged by March 1. To the old-timers present at the meeting it was sort of fi.nereal affair. Stockholders were oh band who have never missed a race meeting, and to" E. 1. Brysan, Louis P. Ezekiel and others it was like the passing of a. friend. The directors of the Latonia Jockey Club Harvey Myers, John B. Dillon. John Huchmeister, Joseph A. Martin and.C. A. Tillies were present and voted their stock. In addition to these It. L. Carroll of Louisville, both attorneys, "were present in the interests of the purchasers to see tiiat everything was carried out iu legal form. , The amount tp be realized on each share of stock could not be determined, for the government excess profits tax for 1917 and 1918 have not been determined and, of course, could not be paid.
