LATEST NEWS FROM BLUE GRASS STATE LEXIXGTOX.. Ky.. February 15. J. O. Keene, member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, left here this morning for New Orleans to attend the racing at the Fair Grounds for several days. Emil Herz. the principal figure in the Short Grass Stud Co.. will be here from Xew York tomorrow to see Short Gra.ss, Marion Hood and other valuable thoroughbreds, he has at Kingston Farm. Herbert P. Gardners Brown Bess has a chestnut filly by Trap Rock at Thomas Piatts farm. High Degree, property of Carr and Piatt, has a brown colt by Delhi, and James McCIellands Pic-tons Pride 1ms a chestnut colt bv Delhi. Charles F. Hill left today for French Lick Springs. Ind., to spend several days before returning to New York. John E. Madden today bought from Anthony Mc-Quaid his interest in the yearling bay colt by Ogden Kirstie.
