CLOSE FINISHES AT ORIENTAL PARK Clark M. Wins in Fast Time Handicap Feature Falls to Sasin. HAVANA. Cuba, February 20. Todays racing at Oriental Park was featured by a number of close finishes, a majority of the winners being forced 1o stand sinew-straining drives to beat their opponents by small margins. In the fourth race Fortunes Favor just lasted long -enough to win after having led by a wide margin for seven-eighths and tired badly at the end. -Mandarins Coat closed like a lion, but just failed to get up in time. Had Thurber made his run a bit sooner he could not have lost. Brizz victory over Wheat Cakes in a driving fnish In the opening race proved iopular, as he was the outstanding choice and warmly supported. Wheat Cakes had s the pare to the last eighth, when Brizz challenged, and in a hard fought struggle secured the decision by a head. While the first two were fighting it out for the purse. Water-ford and Annie Edgar staged a duel of their own for third honors, the former prevailing In the final strides. Kay Spences Fooler Embry won the second. He came from behind after getting away slowly, and overtaking the leaders in the stretch was drawing away nt the end. Snow Queen was second and Sky Man third, while 1. C. Girl and Wise Joan, the early leaders, dropped hopelessly behind. Dee Hammonds consistent racer lark M. scored another winning bracket when he won the third nice. Clarence Buxtons Sasin accounted for the handicap De No Ganadores, in which the odds-on favorite nine from behind in the stretch run and won going away by three lengths. Former jockey Willie Dugan, who branched out here as a full-fledged trainer, saddled his third winner in the past few weeks when he sent Brizz to the post in the first race today.
