ARMY OFFICERS VIEWS ON RACING NEW ORLEANS, La.. March 1. Colonel Patrick Henry Mullay, in command of Camp Shelby, came to New Orleans last Wednesday to see the Louisiana Challenge Military race, which was won by Ills camp. Colonel Mullay presented Lieutenant Ran-nells, the winner, with the cup and said: "I want to congratulate you on your race and at the same time express my admiration for the thoroughbred horse and racing. It is a splendid sport and should be encouraged. Conditions in France at times wen pitiable for lack of horses during the war and we should as officers do everything to encourage the breeding of thoroughbreds."
