LATONIA MEETING NEARING ITS END Xost Remarkable Racing Season Entering on Final Lap with Interest Unabated LATONIA Ky June 21 Having passed the halfway mark the Latonia summer meeting the most remarkable racing season hi all the long and illustrious history of the Kentucky turf has entered upon the second and final lap with no abatement of the unprecedented public interest and no lowering of the high grade class of sport On the contrary the daily patronage figures record a gratifying increase over the first two weeks while the brand of racing furnished is if anything letter than ever before This satisfying state of affairs is partly the result of the revival of popular interest in racing but largely it is due to the executive abil ¬ ity and farsightedness of genural manager M J Winn The Kentucky Jockey Club was most for tunatu when it secured the services of Colonel Whin for it is doubtful whether any other man who might have been selected could have brought about such Diversion has decided to give the mare a much needed rost and instead of sending her to Saratoga will leave her at Latonia for the remainder of the summer OMalley will take n trip to the Pacific coast following the close at Latonia Trainer LatoniaTrainer French Brooks one of the best known conditioners of horses in the west will sever his connection with the Pastime Stable when the remaining horses belonging to the establishment are sold He already has the offer of a number of other engagements
