DATES FOR NEW ORLEANS MEETINGS XEW ORLEANS.. La., September 12. Judge Joseph A. Murphy of St. Louis, who is visiting in Xew Orleans, received a notification today that he had been appointed to again preside at Jefferson Parks winter anil spring meetings. Judge Murphy already had been named presiding judge at the Fair Grounds. Jefferson Park opens its winter meeting on Thanksgiving day and runs through to December 31. The Fair Grounds, undet; the management of the Business Mens Uacing Association, opens January 1 and continues through to February 17. when Jefferson Parks spring meeting opens and runs through to St. Patricks day, March 17. Sweepini improvements are being made at both local tracks, and the management of each has said the purse distribution will excel any of recent years and be fp.r ahead of any purses ever given on any winter track. The Jefferson management plans a 55,000 Derby, to be run on the closing day of the hprlng meeting, March 17, while the Fair Grounds contemplates several big stakes. l
