CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Mr. W. K. Vauderbilt has won upward of 5,000 to date as the result of thirty-three successes in France. Between 300 and 400 horses are already stabled at Laurel Park, where stabling facilities have been considerably augmented over summer. Doth Sun Briar and Exterminator are named for several of the valuable races for horses of the older division to be decided at Laurel and Pimlico. Tho reason that Lady James Douglas filly Bayudn, which won the Oaks, did not start in the St. Leger was that she broke down badly a few days before the Doncaster race. She will hardly race again. The French yearling sales at Deauville in August were a great success and the prices were fully fifty per cent higher than those of any continental sale in the past. In ull 185 yearlings were sold for an average of 52,070.
