WEIGHT-FOR-AGE RACES AT PIMLICO BALTIMORE, Md., October 22. The opening day feature of the Maryland Jockey Clubs fall race meeting at Pimlico a week from Saturday will be the first of the serial weight-for-age races. There will be three of these races, each of which has ,000 added. The distance of the first will be three-quarters of a mile. The second, which will be at one mile, will be run on November 7, and the third, at one mile and an eighth, will be riin on November 11. The Maryland Jockey Club will give an additional "81,000 to the owner of the horse winning any two of the three events. The Manly Memorial Steeplechase, two miles and a half, the richest of American cross-country events, will be run on November 4. The Manly Memorial will have an added money value of 0,000. It bids fair to attract the best field of steeplechasers that will have been seen under silks all year. The Pimlico Autumn Handicap, a ,000 added race of a mile and a quarter, for three-year-olds exclusively, will 16 run November 5, and the Walden. a ,000 added race at one mile, exclusively for two-year-old colts and fillies, will be roil November 0. No gelding mav start in the Walden. It lias become a fixed policy of the Maryland Jockey Club, one of the most liberal of American racing associations in the matter of money distribution, to discourage the wasteful practice of altering young stallions that might be useful at government remount studs, siring half-breds for the military service, by barring unscxed horses from its important races.. No gelding will be permitted to start in the 5,000 Preakness, and the unsexed horse is excluded from the new 0,000 Maryland Futurity. The 0,X0 -Bowie Handicap, a gallop of a mile and a quarter, for three-year-olds and over, will be run November 8; the Elkridge Steeplechase will be the feature at Pimlico November 10, and the Pimlico Cup of ,000 added will be run On the last dav of the meeting, November 13. The Elkridge will be a ,000 added steeplechase at two miles, exclusively for three-year-olds".
