SIWASHES IN ANNUAL SALMON HUNT . . . Eacli October Vancouver, B. C, entertains the Siwaslies, who camp while the salmon run is on, usually remaining two or three days or until they have their winter store of food. Also Vancouver is entertained by them. The one hundred Siwaslies who camped this year put up their tents under the viaduct toward D pier of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. They brought all the household belongings. The squaws dressed in the most vivid colors sweaters, caps, skirts and stockings seeking to outdo eacli other in their vividness. Papooses were numerous and were the envy of the white children who looked on. Guns, rifles, saws, axes, tomatiawks, fish nets, raw material, for baskets, children, dogs, truuks, clothing and foodstuffs littoroU the camp.
