EXCITING FISHING FOR ENGLISH "TOPE" J. F. OsiiKin, a south coast of England fisherman, after being pulled overboard by a gigantic tope dogfish, afterward recovered his rod and captured three more of those fish weighing, thirty-one pounds, thirty pounds and twenty-four and a half pounds. The thirty-one pounder followed the bait . a mackerel right up to the boat, befpre taking it. Osman, who is an expert, -declared that he "had never had a tope do such a thing before." His five tope totaled 145. pounds. Tope are a- species of big dogfish, allied to the shark tribe, and each spring and summer they resort to certain grounds on this part of the Keutisli coast for breeding purpose. They are game fighters, making long rushes and sometimes leaping from the water when hooped. During a recent competition there were twenty-two of these voracious fish captured twenty-one male and one female of the total weight of 5S3 pounds nine ounces.
