PREMIER STABLE OF THE YEAR COMMANDER J. K. L. ROSS FOR TEE SECOND YEAR IN SUCCESSION IS THE LEADING WINNING OWNER OF TEE AMERICAN TURF There is 110 cloud upon the title of Commander J. K. L. Ross to occupy, for the second year in succession, the proud eminence of leading winning owner of the American turf. His powerful and well-equipped stable, with Sir Barton as its bright particular star, swept on in the full tide of victory from the outset to the close of the greatest racing campaign of the year, amassing in doing so a greater total of money won than has fallen to any owner since the days when James It. Keene reigned supreme. In Sir Rarton he possessed the champion three-year-old of 1919 and its greatest money reaper; in Billy Kelly another but little inferior; in Milkmaid the Queen of the three-year-old fillies; in Cudgel one of the grandest handicap horses of recent years, although showing some signs of declining form; in Constancy one of the star two-year-old tillies of the year. Relow these shining stars he had others not to be overlooked in any lield of their class. If AVar Pennant had remained sound and able to race up to his two-year-old form it is quite probable he would have added the Latonia Championship to the list of stable triumphs, which included such greatly coveted races as the Kentucky Derby, Prenkness Stakes, AAithers Stakes, Relmont Stakes, Iotomac Handicap. Merchants and Citizens Handicap, Havre de Grace Handicap and a big list of other stake races desirable in the minds of all owners. To win such a great sum of 09. SOo a stable of extraordinary prowess is requisite, and that is the kind of stable Commander Ross possessed. AVhat its individual members did is here set forth in detail: Horse. Col. and Sex. A.
