In races of intermediate lengths the weights for the shorter distance shall be curried. In races exclusively for three-year-olds or four-year-olds the weight shall be 120 pounds, and for two-year-olds 122 pounds. Except in handicaps and in races where the conditions expressly state to the contrary, inares of all ages shall be allowed three pounds. Welter weights shall be 2 pounds added to the weight-for-age. -In heavy handicaps the top weight shall not be less than-140 pounds. In all handicaps, when the added money exceeds 1919.sh00, the top weight shall not be less than 120 pounds. No .gelding three years old and over shall be qualified to start in any race closing seventy-two hours or more before the date of running, except handicaps and selling races. This rule shall not apply to horses gelded prior to February 13, 1919. KENTUCKY STATE KACIXG COMMISSION, Iu races of intermediate lengths the weights for the shorter distance shall be carried. In races exclusive- for two-year-olds, 122 pounds shall be carried. In races exclusively for three-year-olds, 120 pounds shall be carried. In heat races there shall be an allowance of five pounds from the scale of weights. Except in handicaps, fillies two years old and geldings of all ages shall be allowed three pounds. Fillies and mares three years old and upward shall be allowed five pounds before September 1 and three pounds thereafter. CANADIAN KACING ASSOCIATIONS. In races of intermediate lengths, the weights for the shorter distance shall be carried. In races exclusively for three-year-olds or four-year-olds the weights shall be 122 pounds, and for two-year-olds 11S pounds. Except in handicaps and in all races where the conditions expressly state to the contrary, fillies two years old shall be allowed three pounds, and fillies and inares three-years old and upward shall be allowed five pounds before the first of September and three pounds thereafter. Geldings allowed three pounds. In all raeps fpxeent in hnndicaps where forelgn-brcds are not penalized as such horses foaled in Canada shall be allowed up to and including three years 7 pounds; four years and upward, 5 pounds. AVelter weights shall be 28 pounds added to the weight-for-age. In heavyweight handicaps the top weight shall not bo less than 14u pounds. Xo two-year-olds shall compete in an all-aged race prior to August 1. In all handicaps, when the added money exceeds 1919.sh00, top weight shall not be less than 126 pounds. CUKA-AMEUIOAN JOCKEY CLUB. In races of intermediate lengths the weights for shorter distances shall be carried. In races exclusively for two-year-olds, 118 pounds. In races exclusively for three-year-olds, 122 pounds. In races exclusively for four-year-olds, 120 pounds. Fillies two years old .allowed three pounds. Fillies and inares, three-year-olds and upward, allowed five pounds before September 1. Fillies and inares," three-year-olds and upward, allowed three pounds after September 1. LOWE K CALIFORNIA JOCKEY CLUB. In races of intermediate lengths the weights for the shorter distance shall be carried. In a race exclusively for two-year-olds the weights shall be 118 pounds. Iu a race exclusively for three-year-olds or four-year-olds the weights shall be 122 pounds. Except in handicaps and in races where the weights are fixed absolutely in the conditions, fillies two years old and geldings of all ages shall be allowed three pounds, and fillies and mares three years old and upward slinll be allowed five pounds before September 1 and three pounds thereafter. Welter weights shall be 28 pounds added to the weight-for-age. In heavy baudicaps the top weights shall not be less than 140 pounds. NEAV ORLEANS BUSINESS MEXS RACING ASSOCIATION. In races of Intermediate lengths the weights for the shorter distance shall be carried. In races exclusively for two-year-olds the weights shall be 122 pounds. In races exclusively for three-year-olds or four-year-olds the weights shall be 126 pounds. In handicaps, when the added money exceeds 1919.sh00, tlif top weight shall not he less than 110 pounds. Except in handicaps and in races where the conditions state to the contrary, fillies two years old, and mares three years old and upward, shall be allowed five pounds before September 1 and three pounds afterward. STEEPLECHASE WEIGHTS. At the eastern tracks all steeplechase races are run under the rules of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, which provides these weights: For steeplechases less than three miles From January 1 to August 31. inclusive, three years, 135 pounds; four years, 149 pounds; five years, 157 pounds; six years and over, 102 pounds. From September 1 to December 31. inclusive, for three years, 137 pounds; four years, 154 pounds; five years, 100 pounds; six years and over. 102 pounds. For steeplechases of three miles and over From January 1 to August 31, inclusive, four years, 143 pounds; five years, 155 pounds; six years and over 100 pounds. From September 1 to December 31, in-elusive, for four years, 149 pounds; five years, 153 pounds; six years and over, 100 pounds. i For hurdle races From January 1 to August 31, inclusive, three years, 135 pounds; four years, 142 pounds; five years, 152 pounds; six years and over, 155 pounds. From September 1 to December 31, inclusive, three years, 142 pounds; four years, 155 pounds; five years and over, 151 pounds. In races exclusively for three-yenr-olds the weights shall be 145 pounds. Except in handicaps and In races where the weights are fixed absolutely in the conditions, mares shall be allowed five pounds before September 1 and three pounds afterward. For races on the flat under Hunt Club auspices the scale of weights adopted by the Jockey Club shall govern and in respect of such races welter weights shall be 28 pounds above the weight for age. In the west the weights specified by the Western Jockey Club and the American Turf Association are identical and are as follows: Jan. April. July. Oct. Age Feb. May. Aug. Nov. March. June. Sept. Dec. 3- year-olds 125 129 134 140 4- year-olds 147 119 151 154 5- year-olds 157 100 103 104 6- year-olds and up. 108 170 172 172 The rules of the Canadian Racing Associations governing steeplechases and hurdle races provide that no horse shall be permitted to start in any steeplechase or hurdle nice carrying less than 130 pounds. AVhen a scale of weights for age is not fixed by the regulations of any course op by the conditions of a meeting or race the following scale shall govern: For steeplechases and hurdle races less than three, miles, from January 1 to July 31, inclusive, four years, 145 pounds; five years, 150 pounds; six years and over, 100 pounds. From August 1 to December 31. inclusive, three years, 138 pounds; four years, 155 pounds; five years, 103 pounds; six years and over, 105 pounds. For steeplechases of three miles and over, January 1 to August 31, inclusive, four years, 138 pounds; five years, 157 pounds; six years and over, 160 pounds. From September 1 to December 31, inclusive, four years, 149 pounds; five years, 161 pounds; six years and over, 160 pounds. Except in handicaps and in all races where the conditions expressly state to the contrary, marcs shall be allowed five pounds before the first of September and three pounds thereafter. Geldings allowed three pounds.
