WHITNEY LOSES VALUABLE HORSES LEXINGTON, Ky., November 29. The brood mares Bonnie Star dam of Bonnie Witch and Bonnie Brown and Contrary dam of Vexatious and the weanling bay colt by Broomstick, dam Beauteous, by Hamburg, recently died at Harry Payne Whitneys farm near Lexington. Contrary was bv Hamburg, dam Perverse sister to Stalwart, and Bonnie Star was by Star Shoot, dam Bonnie Blue II. H. W. Hoag, trainer of Paddy Whack, is here en route to California to spend the winter at home. He left Paddy Whack in the east. W. E. Walsh, who hred Jack Hare Jr., is here to see his latest purchase, the eight-year-old mare Nantura. by St. Simonian II., dam Attractive, by Ren Stiome, which recently arrived at John D. tarr s farm from Tennessee.
