J. E. MADDEN RETURNS TO LEXINGTON LEXINGTON. Ky., December 4. T. L. Pierce, acting for Jefferson Livingston, today bought from George Starr the weanling bay filly by Ballot Sadie S., dam of Tavolara, Stephen 11., etc., by Charade. She is regarded as a bargain and is to be turned out at Walter S. Paynes Maplelou Stud. John E. Madden returned to Lexington today from the east to remain until next spring. He spent three days at Louisville, where his yearlings are in training, and expressed himself as highly pleased with the youngsters. "Those Friar Hocks," said lie. "are sure runners." .Mr. and Mrs. Phil T. Chinn are expected here from New York at the end of the week to spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Qninn have arrived from New York to remain until racing is resumed in the cast next spring. A number of buyers from various sections are here for the sale of thoroughbred to be held by the Kentucky Bales Company tomorrow afternoon.
