H. D. BROWN RELEASED ON BAIL HAVANA. Cuba. December 24: II. D. Brown, manager of the Cuba-American Jockey and Auto Club, who is charged with having shot and seriously wounded Alberto Piedra, son-in-law of Secretary of Government Montalvo, was today released on ,000 bail. The shooting for which Brown was arrested and lodged in the Marianao jail occurred during the running of the fiftli race on December 17. There were no witnesses to the shooting, but Piedra told his brother-in-law immediately after the shooting that Brown had fired the shot. The police found a. .38 caliber revolver with one chamber empty beneath Browns desk in the. office of the race track, -where the shooting occurred. The surgeons of the military hospital at Camp Columbia, to which institution Piedra was taken, say that Piedra will recover. Brown claims that the shooting was accidental .
