LORD DERBYS BIG DAY AT LIVERPOOL Lord Derby had a field day in the racing of the chief day of the Liverpool summer meeting, July 23. His horses won four of the, six events of the afternoon. All were home-bred, too. Hawkshead, two-year-old" bay filly, by Swynford Silver How. took the School House Stakes, and Spinney, two-year-old bay filly, by Great Sport Russet, was first in the Jolliffe Stakes. Redhead, three-year-old bay filly, by Harry of Hereford Swynfords brother recently sold to France dam Hair Trigger II., won the event of the meeting, the Liverpool Cup of eleven furlongss, worth ,750. She was at 8 to 1, and beat The Midshipmite, Devizes Alasnam and Tangier and four others by four lengths in 2:31. The Atlantic Stakes, ,750, one mile and one-quarter, aiso went to the Derby white and black when Archaic, three-year-old chestnut filly, by Polymelus Keystone II., the stout favorite, won handily in 2:20. The track was a sea of mud that day.
