Dr. nickraan, the Tony Bonero Lady McGeo three-year-old gelding from the George M. Ilendrle stable, accounted for tile 1920 renewal of the D. and C. Selling Stakes for horses of all ages, which featured the card at Windsor this afternoon. Marjorie Hynes finished second and .Torice third. In spite of u light impost of 104 pounds Dr. Hickman was third choice in the betting, witii .Torice and Marjorie Hynes most in demand. Marjorie Hynes made the pace to the stretch turn, apparently with plenty in reserve. meanwMIe r.uftjig Joriee into defeat. Rounding the turn Dr. Hickman, urged by jockey Willis, moved up fast on the outside and challenged the pacemaker. Marjorie Hynes held on gamely in .1 long duel, but was in close quarters throughout the Mretch and jockev Yeargin was unable to do the filly justice under the circumstances. Dr. Hickman gained the decision bv a nose in 1:11, thus reducing by one-fifth of a second the track record for three-quarters of a mile. Jockey Yeargin claimed foul against Willis for alleged leg locking him in the stretch duel, but the claim was not allowed. The victory of Dr. Hickman was n costlv one for the Hendrie stable, for W. C. Weant. represented in the race by Top o tli Morning, bid the winner P from his entered price of S2.000 to 1920.sh,000, one of the largest run-ups ever recorded on a Canadian track. The gelding was retained .by the customary additional bid, but as the net value of the race only amounted to ,8;o, Dr. nickmans success cost Mr. Ile-idrie ,135. J. Welter Long Taw, one of starter Mlitons assistants, was kicked over the left eye by Corydon while lining up the field for the last. nice Wednesday.
