Won driving; second and third the same. SQUAW MAX, after being saved in the early running, came around the leaders in tlie home.1 stretch and, finishing fast, outstayed DAY LILLY in the final drive. The latter was a prominent con-r tender all the way, but tired when challenged. BALLYNEW set the early pace, but also was tiring in the closing strides. SANTA CLAUS was on the inside for the entire race and could not secure a clear course and was forced to be eased up in the last sixteenth. LIGHT FANTASTIC was pulled up when beaten. PRINCE OF COMO rushed into the lead and drew away in the first half, but tired badly in the last eighth. TURF closed a gap gamely in the stretch drive. LIBERTY GIRL showed speed, but quit. MARION HOLLINS ran wide throughout. FREDERICK THE GREAT had no mishaps. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,405 and bought in. KNOBBIE was outpaced for the first half mile, but raced next to the inner rail and, saving much ground, took the lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the winners challenge. CARE FREE rushed into the lead and set a fast early pace, but tired finally. MULCIBER lost ground In the last eighth. OCR BOOTS began slowly.
